VP for Institutional Advancement & University Communications Named to Baltimore Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore Business Journal has named a º£½ÇÉçÇø vice president to its , recognizing his outstanding leadership and transformative impact on higher education.
Dr. Carroll Galvin D’23, vice president for institutional advancement & university communications, was selected for this distinction from over 200 nominations as one of the best and brightest young professionals in the Greater Baltimore area. The 40 Under 40 award honors rising leaders across industries who demonstrate innovation, community involvement, and professional excellence.
For nine years, Dr. Galvin has been an integral member of the Institutional Advancement team before taking over as the vice president of institutional advancement & university communications in 2023. He leads a high-performing team responsible for constituent engagement, fundraising, operations, University Communications, Alumni Engagement, and the Women’s Leadership Institute of Baltimore (WLIB). Their collective efforts have driven record-breaking success, including the highest levels of annual unrestricted fundraising revenue in NDMU’s history for two consecutive years.
With a strong background in professional grant writing, fundraising strategy, and nonprofit management, Dr. Galvin has served as the University’s chief proposal architect for both institutional and individual funding requests, successfully securing historic levels of philanthropic resources to support strategic institutional priorities. Under his strategic leadership, NDMU completed the largest fundraising campaign in its history; a $45 million multi-year, multi-faceted initiative that surpassed its goal and closed at $52.6 million, months ahead of schedule. Additionally, 2025 was the third largest fundraising year in University history. His collaborative leadership style, strategic insight, and commitment to advancing the mission of º£½ÇÉçÇø continue to leave a lasting impact on the University’s trajectory. Dr. Galvin is a 2023 º£½ÇÉçÇø graduate of the Ph.D. in higher education leadership program.
